One Stop strengthens the Northern Kentucky economy by providing easy access to the most comprehensive workforce readiness and development resources in the eight-county region. Beyond job matched placements, One Stop specializes in pre-hire and post-employment assessments, skills development and support services for companies and their employees.

Our Business Services Liaison will help match your workforce requirements with the business services offered by One Stop; an alliance of government, education and nonprofit partners. The action plan of selected business services is then implemented by our customer-focused One Stop partners and provided on a free, low cost or shared cost basis.

Business Services Include:

  • Pre-hire and Post-employment Assessments
  • KMSS – Kentucky Manufacturing Skill Standards Assessments
  • TABE – Test of Adult Basic Education (assessment of basic reading, math and language skills)
  • KEC – Kentucky Employment Certification (silver and gold levels provide documentation of skill proficiencies in areas of reading for information, mathematics and locating information)
  • ACT – Work Keys Job Skills Analysis Employee Skills Development
  • Workplace Basic Skills Training (customized curriculum in reading, grammar, math and communication)
  • GED preparation
  • English as a second language
  • Workplace Spanish

  • Lean Manufacturing Simulations – One day Lean Tools workshop
  • Customized Technical Training – Customized to a business’ needs
  • Leadership & Management Training
  • Mobile Classroom – Mobile classroom with computers & basic Microsoft applications.

Labor Pool and Market Information

  • America’s Job Bank – a computerized job matching system enabling employers to recruit job seekers locally, regionally and nationally
  • On-line Labor Market Information including labor market trends and prevailing wages, federal and state mandatory posters for the workplace, notices and publications.

Employer/Employee Support Services

  • Assistance for Military Veterans
  • On-the-job training: 50% of wages paid during training (restrictions apply)
  • Evaluation of business facilities for ADA compliance
  • Targeted Jobs and Unemployment Tax credits
  • Information on admission to local colleges and universities
  • Assistance in locating interpreters for persons deaf/hard of hearing
  • Rapid Response Teams – assists employers undergoing layoffs or transitions(see additional information below)

Rapid Response

Rapid Response is a strategy designed to respond to layoffs and company closures. The Career Connections program assembles a team of representatives to go on-site to local companies to provide assistance and support to affected employees who are being separated from their jobs through no fault of their own.
