Job Seeker Services match available workers with employers who need their skills and experience. Work search and referrals may be conducted locally, statewide and nationally. For assistance with all your employment-related needs, go to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training (OET).

One Stop Northern Kentucky provides easy access to the most comprehensive workforce readiness and development resources in the eight-county region. These employment, training and support services help individuals reach their goal of self-sufficient jobs and careers. The One Stop partners integrate the provision of services as they relate to their areas of expertise.

Adult Education
Provide GED preparation/testing, KMSS Assessment, Work Keys/Kentucky Employability Certificate, English as a Second Language, acedemic skills improvement and computer skills enhancement. Career Connections - Brighton Center, INC/W.I.A
Provides assistance to individuals who were separated from their previous job, or those who are unemployed or underemployed. Featured services include, if eligible:

Health Connections/NKADD
Assists individuals with entering a career in the medical field. Services include: job shadowing, workshops, assessment, career counseling/exploration, and training/educational opportunities. Career S.T.E.P.S./NKADD
Provides employment assistance, educational and short-term training programs, career planning/exploration, and workshops for young adults between 16-21 years old. In Florence, call 859.980.1960 or in Newport, call 859.980.1965.

Dept for Community Based Services/DCBS
Provides family support, child care assistance, child and adult protection; determines Kentucky Temporary Assistance Program (K-TAP) Medicaid, KCHIP and Food Stamp eligibility; and assists in securing child support for families. The department also runs the state foster care and adoption system and recruits and trains parents to dare for the state’s children who are waiting for permanent homes. Assists individuals with obtaining employment. Provides pre-screening services to employers to select the best-qualified workers for their job openings. In Florence, call 859.371.0808. Unemployment Insurance/Office of Employment and Training

Gateway Community and Technical College
Gateway Community and Technical College (GCTC) offers educational opportunities in various program areas on four campuses in Covington, Edgewood, Highland Heights, and Boone County. Students earn associate degrees, diplomas, and certificates at the two-year college (fully accredited by the Council on Occupational Education). Gateway partners with more than 200 local businesses to provide customized, short-term training to more than 3,000 students.

Goodwill Homeless Veterans Reintegration Program/HVRP
Assist homeless Veterans to reintegrate back into mainstream society by helping them locate housing and other essential services. Call 859.292.6666 ex. 236, 313 or 250 for details.

Northern Kentucky Community Action Commission/NKCAC
Assists income-eligible individuals, 55 years and older, to return to work. The Covington location is 20 W. Pike St. Call 859.581.6607 for more information. Neighborhood Centers in each of the eight Northern Kentucky counties provide emergency services such as commodities, light/heat assistance, childcare, homeless assistance, food pantry, clothing, etc. Call The NKCAC Neighborhood Center in your county or call the number above to request the phone number at the closest center. Veteran Services/Office of Employment and Training
Provide special job search assistance to qualified military veterans. Services include: Referrals to job openings and supportive services, job development, Case Management, and information regarding veteran’s benefits. Ask to speak to a Veterans Representative. Office of Vocational Rehabilitation
Assist persons with disabilities in the areas of job search, career counseling, vocational assessment, job development, accommodations, placement and training. In Covington call 859.292.6513. For all other areas call 859.371.9450 ext. 300. Available in Pendleton County by appointment only.

One Stop Northern Kentucky has Local Veterans Employment Representatives and Disabled Veteran Outreach Specialists assigned specifically to assist Veterans with their employment and training needs. These dedicated veteran service staff work with other One Stop staff to provide veterans with priority services designed to improve their employability and career options. These services include:
