The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) calls for the establishment of a local Workforce Investment Board (WIB). The WIB membership must be at least 50% from the private sector. In addition, the "local elected official", a role currently served by the NKADD Board of Directors, works in partnership with the WIB to meet the employment needs of the community. The WIB is responsible for:
- Management of the local Northern Kentucky One Stop efforts, including selection of operator(s) and providers
- Maintenance of a performance driven system for documenting accomplishment of standards
- Selection of youth service providers, Identification of eligible providers of training services
- Provide oversight of budget status, audits, contract status

The Northern Kentucky WIB meets on the second Tuesday of alternate months. Meetings for fiscal year 2011 are:
