Several One Stop Northern Kentucky Partners provide free or low cost assessments and testing. Many companies wish to find workers that meet certain benchmarks to assist in effective hiring practice. We can help establish company benchmarks to evaluate applicants as well as use of national standards. Assessments may also assist in making decisions on incumbent workers for promotion and or training.

Customized Training
What training is available to assist in developing employees?
On the Job Training-up to 50% of wages may be paid for prospective employee candidates prior to hiring who meet eligibility criteria.

Customized training can be designed to meet your company’s management and leadership development requirements. Such training may benefit companies in employee retention. Lean Manufacturing training and training to improve the supervisory, decision-making and teamwork are a few examples. Grant funding may be available up to 75% of training costs.

A customized educational curriculum can also be developed specifically for a company to include topics such as reading, grammar and math skills, the metric system, communication, etc.

Are there rooms available for companies to conduct employment interviews?
Conference rooms are available for use during regular business hours to conduct interviews. Audio/visual equipment, phone, fax, copier, may also be made available.

Tax Credit Information
What tax credits are available to companies?
Tax credits are available for employers to help save money. Targeted Jobs Tax Credits apply when hiring persons with disabilities and low income persons for example. In addition, Unemployment Tax Credit of $100 may be applied against a company’s Kentucky income taxes owed per eligible hire-restrictions apply.

ADA Technical and Related Assistance
Where can a company find assistance with ADA and other disability issues?
Technical assistance for all disability related issues is provided by representatives of the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation. Voluntary accessibility evaluations of business facilities is typically provided when an injured employee is ready to return to work but there are barriers to his/her return or a candidate is going to be hired and there are physical or work barriers to his/her placement.

Technical Assistance is also available for deaf and hard of hearing persons in evaluating special equipment to assist them in acquiring a position or in retaining a job. Furthermore, assistance is provided in locating interpreters for interviews, for example.
